Subha Rajput on facing rejection due to social media followers
When asked Subha about worst rejection reason she has heard, she mentioned how she was not given role due to social media followers. She further calls it an unfortunate scenario and says, “Yeh maine suna hai aur iss show se pehle jab mai ads ya baaki auditions deti thi, mujhse bhi pucha jata tha. Aur mujhe ye cheez kabhi samajh nahi aayi. Kyuki aajkal social media pe kuch bhi chal raha hai aur usme kuch quality nahi dikh rahi hai. (I have heard this and even before this show, when I used to give auditions for ads or other things, I was asked the same question. And I never understood this. Because nowadays, anything goes on social media. There is lack of quality when it comes to content on social media).”
She added, “Aap sirf social media followers ke chalte kisi insaan ko kaam doge rather than the one who works hard to improve their craft. Usko hatake aap unko le rahe ho jisne sadak pe khade hoke kuch kiya hai. Matlab kuch bhi ho raha hai. (Casting people choose someone who makes random content on streets and ignore the one who works hard to improve their craft). That is not correct. It’s not like someone just rises from the streets and becomes an actor. A person has put in hours to improve the skill. In fact, when budgets and negotiations happen, even at that time, casting people point out followers. I don’t think casting based on social media followers is right).”
On a parting note, the actress also shared how she draws line between personal and professional life.
